Founding Vice Chairman at Friends of Nature (FON Nepal), a youth-led non-governmental, non-profit making, non-political organization working in the field of environment and biodiversity conservation. Mr. Raju Acharya received the international ‘Special Achievement Award’ for exceptional contribution to owl conservation in Nepal in 2011. He was the first Asian to have to receive this award.
A nationally celebrated conservationist is awarded National Wildlife Conservation Award, 2018 by DNPWC, and Zoosop Pokhara honored him Chandra Maya Dhewazu Biodiversity Conservation Award 2018.
He posted on his Facebook page, “Its a century!.To the date, over 100 articles and blogs (targeted on wildlife/nature) have been published, mainly on Pahilo post (65), My Sansar(31), and other media (4)”. Raju specially thanked journalist Umesh Shrestha for trusting him and encouraging him to write articles to sensitize the public. He also thanked the team behind Pahilo post for support.

Among his five published books and booklets, He is the principal writer for चरा एक रोचक जानकारी and लाटोकोसेरो कि बाठोकोसेरो? while he coauthored नेपालका लाटोकोसेरोहरु, चीर कालिज, and Small Carnivores in TMJ, Eastern Nepal.
He is also an editor for Hapsilo हप्सिलो, the quarterly magazine started to help in the conservation of Owl species. Magazine targets to help teachers, students, researchers, conservationists, policymakers, journalists, and the general public.
